Terms of Service

Article 1 - Definitions

In these Terms of Service, the following terms have the indicated meaning:

• "Service": The FairChore web and mobile application, accessible via www.fairchore.com and associated applications.
• "User": Any individual who creates an account and uses the Service.
• "Group": A shared space created by a User to manage tasks with other members (family, roommates, etc.).
• "Task": A household activity recorded in the Service, associated with points.
• "Premium": The paid subscription providing access to additional features.

Article 2 - Purpose and Acceptance

These Terms of Service (ToS) define the conditions of access and use of the FairChore Service.

By creating an account or using the Service, you unconditionally accept these ToS. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the Service.

Article 3 - Service Description

FairChore is a household task management application that allows household members to fairly distribute chores through a points system. The Service offers:

• Creation and management of groups (family, shared housing, etc.)
• Recording of completed household tasks
• A debt/credit points system for fair distribution
• A ranking of each member's contributions
• Customizable categories and task types

Article 4 - Registration and User Account

Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You can register:

• With an email address and password
• Via your Google account (OAuth)
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (16 years without parental authorization)

Account Security

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must inform us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not responsible for damages resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time. This action is irreversible and results in the deletion of your personal data, except for data we are legally required to retain.

Article 5 - User Obligations

Respectful Use

The User agrees to:

• Use the Service fairly and in accordance with its purpose
• Provide accurate information during registration
• Respect other members of their groups
• Not impersonate a third party

Prohibited Behavior

It is strictly forbidden to:

• Use the Service for illegal or fraudulent purposes
• Post illegal, offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent security measures
• Use unauthorized bots, scrapers, or automated tools
• Intentionally overload the Service's servers
• Resell or commercially exploit the Service without authorization
• Collect personal data of other users

Article 6 - User Content

You are solely responsible for the content you post on the Service (custom task names, comments, avatar, etc.). You guarantee that this content:

• Does not violate third-party rights (intellectual property, privacy, etc.)
• Is not illegal, offensive, or inappropriate
• Does not contain viruses or malicious code

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these conditions, without notice or compensation.

Article 7 - Intellectual Property

FairChore and all its elements (logo, design, code, texts, images) are protected by intellectual property law. You are not authorized to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Service's source code
• Use FairChore's trademarks, logos, or graphic elements without authorization
• Create derivative works based on the Service

You retain your rights to content you create. By posting it on FairChore, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and process it within the scope of the Service.

Article 8 - Liability and Warranties

We strive to provide a quality Service, but certain limitations apply:

Availability

The Service is provided 'as is'. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Interruptions for maintenance or technical issues may occur.

No Warranty

We do not guarantee that the Service will meet all your needs, be error-free, or that results obtained will be accurate or reliable.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service.

Article 9 - Sanctions and Termination

In case of violation of these ToS, we may:

• Send you a warning
• Temporarily suspend your account
• Permanently terminate your account and delete your data

Except in case of emergency or serious violation, we will inform you before any sanction and give you the opportunity to explain.

Article 10 - Modification of ToS

We may modify these ToS at any time. Significant changes will be notified to you by email or via the application. By continuing to use the Service after notification, you accept the new terms.

Article 11 - Applicable Law and Disputes

These ToS are governed by French law. In case of dispute, we prefer amicable resolution. Failing agreement, French courts will have jurisdiction.

Article 12 - Miscellaneous Provisions

If any provision of these ToS is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the other provisions remain in effect. Failure to exercise a right provided by these ToS does not constitute a waiver of that right.
